There was excitement in the crowd as the Iowa Central Women’s Basketball Team took the court for their home game against Grand View on Monday morning.

The excitement wasn’t just from the usual crowd of loyal Triton students and followers who attend the games, but also a new group of young fans- around 200 elementary school students from Saint Edmond Catholic School, Community Christian School and Manson Northwest Webster packed the stands for the first ever Education Day game.

“The idea came from my alma mater, where we always had an education day with about 3000 kids in attendance,” said Triton Head Coach Sabah Dickerson. “Basketball is huge in Iowa so we wanted to offer a chance for students from all schools in Webster County to come watch a college basketball game for free.”
