爱荷华中央社区学院自豪地欢迎其新任戏剧总监肖恩·马尔维希尔来到道奇堡。 肖恩带来了他从16岁开始的广泛的专业表演历史，以及20多年的教学和写作经验。

“I’ve been drawn to performing for as long as I can remember,” he said. “I loved the way stories came to life on stage—how you could take an idea or emotion and give it form through your body, voice, and presence.”

Sean’s passion for theatre led him to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Southern California and an MFA in Physical Theatre 完成于欧洲，主要在意大利，由密西西比女子大学授予. Along the way, he’s built an impressive résumé, directing award-winning films, performing in a six-month residency in a Macau casino, and leading productions at the Exuberant Theatre Company in both New York City and San Diego.

Despite his global experience, it’s the power of theatre to build community that continues to inspire him.
“I’m still deeply moved by how theatre builds empathy. That moment when an actor surprises themselves or when an audience collectively gasps or laughs—that’s magic, and it never gets old.”

As the new Director of Theatre at Iowa Central, he’s excited to bring that energy to the college and the greater Fort Dodge community.
“There’s something special about building theatre in a tight-knit place where you can really make an impact. I want to help students discover their unique voices and bring high-quality productions to life right here at home.”

“I take the craft seriously, but I always keep the room supportive and joyful. I want students to take risks and find their authentic expression.”

Sean is also a passionate improviser, having trained at all three of New York’s major improv schools: UCB, the PIT, and Magnet Theater. 无论是领导热身，指导制作，还是提供个性化的指导，他的方法都是基于整体建设，物理讲故事和创造性探索。

“My goal is to produce a season that excites both students and the wider community—something that makes people say, ‘Wow, I didn’t know theatre at Iowa Central could be like that.’”

“Come as you are. Whether you’ve been acting for years or have never set foot on stage, there’s a place for you here. This program is about growth, exploration, and making work that matters—to you and your community.”
