Triton歌手将演唱《It is Finished》

爱荷华州中央声乐系的学生们正忙着为复活节假期前的两场特别演出做准备。

The first performance, “It is Finished,” is an original work by Iowa Central Director of Vocal Music Will Lopes. 它将展示Triton歌手的声音，伴随着道奇堡交响乐团的室内管弦乐队和爱荷华州中央剧院总监特蕾莎·杰克逊的旁白。

The work features sacred musical adaptations of the Requiem Sequence and a poem by Chicago songwriter and worship leader Sharon Irving, who appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2015. It tells the progressive story of Christ’s journey from the garden to the cross where he declared “it is finished.”

“We wanted to try a recording to reach a broader audience,” Lopes said. “The work captures the story from Jesus’ arrest to his death on the cross. 这首诗描绘了他被捕前的情景。 The songs are in Latin and the poems in English to really capture the moment.”

“This is the first time we have ever really done any musical holy week project,” said Lopes. “It is going to be a great gathering of forces and talent from the community and our students.”
